There are a number of things to consider to when buying a new bra to achieve the perfect fit.
Take note of how the back of your bra fits when it’s brand new. A lot of women think that the straps are the part of your bra that provide you with the best lift and support, when in fact it’s how firm the back of your bra is. To send your bust sky-high, keep the back of your bra nice and firm which will hold your underwire tightly in against your chest – this is where you will get great uplift. Shoulder straps are only designed to support minimal breast weight and to keep the bra cup sitting flat against your bust. It’s important to keep shoulder straps firm, but not so tight that they dig into your shoulders.
Most of a bra’s support comes from how firm the band is under your bust.
When buying a new bra, if you need to do it up on the tightest hook it will be too big and you should go down a size. Buy bras on the loosest or middle hook so you can adjust it as they stretch with wear.
Remember, a bra can be a bit like a see-saw – if it’s riding up your back (too big), the front will be sitting lower than it should (low cups = low breasts). Keep the band nice and firm which will hold your underwire in tightly against your chest, lifting your bust in the process!
